Inside The Lodge- The Groom's Room

We love our grooms so we made sure to provide them with a great space to hang out and get ready before the ceremony and reception! The groom’s suite is located on the second floor of the venue, away from the bridal suite so we don't have any accidental run-ins. With large windows across the back wall, there is a great view of the waterfalls and ceremony area. We find most grooms and groomsmen enjoy balcony where they can shout at their friends and family as they arrive for the ceremony.

Other features include a wet bar, mini-fridge, flat screen television, Xbox, Satellite TV, Satellite Radio, a sofa and other seating, as well as lockers for the guys to keep their belongings during the event.

Questions To Ask When Searching For A Wedding Venue

You're engaged! Congratulations!! Now it's time to find your wedding venue. Most venues in the area are booking up a year or more in advance so it's important to jump right in and start scheduling site tours, especially if you're looking for a Saturday.

We have put together a few important questions you may want to ask when touring each facility. Hopefully this helps cover a lot of the basics.

  1. What dates are available in the month/season I'm looking at?
  2. Can you hold the ceremony and reception there?
  3. If there is an outdoor ceremony site, is there a bad weather backup plan?
  4. Is the venue available for a rehearsal? What day and time can it be held?
  5. How many people can you accommodate?
  6. What is the rental fee for the venue, is there a discount during certain seasons or for days other than Saturday?
  7. What deposit is required to reserve my date? When is the balance due?
  8. What does the fee include? Example: Tables? Chairs? How many hours? Can we purchase additional hours?
  9. Is there a bride and/or groom suite available to get ready? If so, what time can we arrive to start getting ready?
  10. Will there be a coordinator or facility person on-site the day of the wedding?
  11. Who is responsible for setup and cleanup?
  12. Do you allow outside caterers? Is there a caterer's fee? Is there a kitchen available for them?
  13. Can I choose my other vendors?
  14. Do you allow alcohol? Can we bring that in? Is there a corkage fee?
  15. Are candles/open flames allowed?
  16. Will there be other events the day of my wedding?
  17. Is there adequate parking for my guest count?
  18. Are there accommodations for guests on-site or in the area?
  19. How much security is required? Do I hire them or is that provided by the venue?
  20. Does the facility have insurance? Do you require us to have event insurance?
  21. Are there any additional fees?
  22. What is the cancellation policy?

Cheers To Refreshing Summer Drinks

Summer wedding season is here and so is the Texas heat! With most of our ceremonies taking place outdoors with our gorgeous waterfall backdrop, some of our brides have opted for a refreshing drink to serve their guests as they are arriving to help keep them cool. There's something about a glass of Sweet Tea or Lemonade on a hot summer day that just makes everything better. We love this touch and your guests are sure to enjoy it as well!
